This is a nice 38 miles and is part of my favourite ride.

The route start in Locksheath and travels to Fairthorne Manor via the Botley Road. Opposite the entrance to Fairthorne Manor take the small path through to Outlands Lane.

At next two junctions go straight across, drop down, across the river (Hamble) and left into Netherhill Lane.

Carry on up over the hill and down into a valley where you turn left onto Mincing Field Lane. Continue along Mincing Field Lane for about 2 miles and go across Winchester Hill Rd by the Robinhood Pub into Sciviers Lane. Up the hill down to the Winchester Rd where you turn left towards Marwell Zoo. After about 2 miles, take a right, Hurst Lane, sign posted Marwell Activity Centre.

Continue along Hurst Lane but DO NOT go to the activity centre but continue until a junction where you go right on to Whaddon Lane where you continue for about 500m and turn right into Lower Baybridge Lane until you come to a T junction where you turn right into Baybridge Lane. Bare right at the small junction and continue up a steep hill. At the top you will find a great view point.

Continue back down the hill and at the junction, turn left into Longwood Dean Lane. Carry along here and over the next junction and continue until the road ends where you turn right and continue up a hill to the Milburys Pub. Go straight across here and continue along Wheely Down Farm Lane with fabulous views for about two miles. At the staggared cross road, turn right into Becon Hill Lane.

Continue along this road for about three miles until you come to a cross road with the major Bishops Waltham to Corehampton Rd and head towards Corehampton Golf Course. Past the golf course. At the cross road turn right into Park Lane. This takes you up and over a big hill.

This takes you up and over a big hill. Continue along this road as it drops towards Swanmore. Left into Vicarage Lane, carry on straight to Dodds Lane where you go straight across into Chapel Road. Along Chapel Road to the junction with Droxford Road and straight across into Mislingford Road. Carry on along Mislingford Road and at the cross road go straight across into Newmans Hill. Up and over the hill and down turning left into to Mill and onto Wickham where you will find Wickham Tea Rooms.

Back home from here is easy. You nip through Mayles Lane, through Knowle, right when you get to River Lane and left into Funtley Road. Carry along Funtley road until just before the motorway and take a right into Springles Lane. This will take you past Skylark Golf Course to a round about where you can go right to drop into Whiteley or left to Locks Heath.
