Here is a local 25 mile’r for you this week. It’s a lot of back roads, some rough track and a lot of cycle paths. We did: Warsash - Hillhead - Stubbington - Newgate Lane - the Eclipse Bus route - Gosport - Lee on Solent - Warsash

I start from the Warsah Cycles Workshop in Dibles Road, again I’m alone as my cycle buddy (M2. Dave) was working, (how inconsiderate) it was usual route to Hill head through Brownwhich Farm. At the top of the hill you turn left into Knights Bank Road and left on to Old Street and again left continuing on Old Street. This eventually takes you to Cuckoo Lane where again you turn left and again left on to the Titchfield Lane and then right into Ranvilles Lane and right again on to Oak Croft Lane.

This takes you on to Peak Lane where there is a nice cycle path on the east side of the road. When you hit the round about turn right keeping on the cycle paths along Longfield Avenue. Until you reach Newgate Lane.

At Newgate Lane, keep on the path on the West side but do not go over the flyover. Instead, turn off into Palmerston Drive and right on to the Eclipse Bus Route which is called Henry Court way.

Your job is now to go as fast as you can along here as the only other traffic is the odd bus. Carry along here until the bus route ends. Where you need to wind your way through the cycle paths on to Forrest Way next to the Gosport Leisure Centre to the cross roads at the A32 Fareham Road. Straight across here on to Heritage Way for about half a mile and right at the roundabout. At the traffic lights turn left into St Thomas Rd and immediately left into Priory Rd.

Keep along here until the road ends where you hop onto the path on and then wind your way past the Explosion Museum and over the Millennium Bridge and on to the A32 left into the centra of Gosport.

From there it round the corner for 200 meters, left onto Haslar Road, over Haslar Bridge and past the hospital. At the end of Haslar Rd turn left onto Clayhill Rd and Fort Road and at the roundabout carry on straight on to Stokes Bay Road where you will find Pebbles Cafe that has a takeaway service currently.

The route home from here I simple. Stokes Bay - Lee on Solent - Hill Head and follow the route that you started on.

This great route is is according to Garman, 23.6 miles, it took me 1h 43m and i burned 608 calories. My average heart rate was 111bpm
